EXECUTIVE HEADTEACHER'S WELCOME

Welcome to the Wade Deacon High School website, a glance at which will reveal that it’s been a very exciting, creative and successful year. We achieved our highest ever GCSE examination results in 2008. Furthermore I am pleased to inform you that Year 11 pupils are on track to achieve exceptional results again in 2009. I believe that success inside the classroom and in examinations is due to quality teaching, excellent relationships between staff and pupils and the superb opportunities we offer young people. The opportunity to participate in trips and visits, sporting events and in a wide range of extra‐curricular activities engenders confidence, self‐esteem and motivation which are channeled into pupils’ academic achievement. We are working together to give our young people the best possible education as well as developing a high performing school for the Widnes community. I would like to thank all our pupils, parents and carers, teachers and support staff for their dedication and hard work, also the Governing Body for working  to achieve the highest standards.

HEAD OF SCHOOL'S WELCOME

We have had an exciting and inspirational start to 2009. Wade Deacon High School has been awarded a third specialism of Training School and this will create many new opportunities for all our members of staff. We have had commendations from several government departments regarding the outstanding quality of our Extended Schools and continuous professional development programmes which are led by our staff, for our staff and inevitably have an impact on the creative and innovative teaching and learning that our learners in the community receive. Our visitors from the Training School Agency affirmed that we are a “21st Century School” that blends the best of tradition with innovation.
